His nudes were never titillating and he always appeared to have great respect for his models and feminine beauty throughout his long career

but we have agreed for this artwork to go out on loan to a public exhibition from July - November 2022

looking back to the 1880s rather than the 1920s when it was probably painted

it is a meticulously researched historical record of the country interiors in traditional Swedish dwellings of the period

as he is internationally collected and sits in many public collections including the Tate and what’s more was a much respected professor of painting at the Royal Academy Schools
