It is a small, usually solitary species with very attractive spines at the end of each tubercle. Older plants may offset. They look like little feathers. Flowers are pink. Not difficult to grow, but is more fussy than a lot of Mammillarias and is a slow grower. In particular it is sensitive to overwatering, especially in the winter. Keep on the dry side an you should be ok. Protect from frost.
