After a median follow up of 3.8 years, 3-point MACE in LEADER was reduced by 13% (HR =0.87, P=0.01 for superiority) (Figure 3) and, unlike the EMPA REG OUTCOME study, all three individual components of MACE (MI, stroke, CV mortality) contributed to the cardiovascular benefit including reduced CV mortality
